Every master freediver knows that finding your proper buoyancy in the pool is incredibly crucial to any dynamic discipline. It doesn’t matter if you are doing Dynamic Monofin, Bifins, or Nofins; if you are struggling with your buoyancy and/or trim, you might as well come out of the pool because you won’t succeed in reaching your targets.

Over the years, some companies succeeded with nice neck weights. We have seen moderate success from Binstok with their freediving neck weight, which can also be used in depth disciplines. We’ve seen the Apneautic neck weight, which was also relatively popular. Still, the first neck weight that really got the attention of the entire freediving world is the beautiful-looking and well-engineered Lobster neck weight.

The Lobster neck weight is specifically designed for freediving and can be used in pool training and pool competitions. There are a couple of significant advantages to the Lobster neck weight system. The Lobster neck weight is located around the neck and balances the weight distribution in the most buoyant area, the lung area. This results in determining the perfect buoyancy level and accomplishing the perfect trim – a perfectly horizontal line of the body. The second advantage of using the Lobster neck weight is its preciseness. Each of the three sets, the Small 2.5kg, the Medium 4kg, and the Large 6kg set, come with interchangeable weights as small as 100gr.

The Lobster Neckweight comes in the following sizes and sets.

• 

  Small 2.5kg: 1.5kg base and 4 additional segments of 400, 300, 200 and 100gr.
• 

  Medium 4kg: 2.5kg base and 5 additional segments of 500, 400, 300, 200 and 100gr.
• 

  Large 6kg: 4.0kg base and 6 additional segments of 500, 500, 400, 300, 200 and 100gr.

And each set will come with at least six extra rubber plugs.
